PEACE Dialogue: Microaggressions -Conflict in our Daily Lives
Kingian Nonviolence provides us with the basic tools to understand, positively engage, and reconcile our daily conflicts. Yet, we may encounter conflicts that we are unable to fully understand. Join us to discuss daily indignities called Microaggressions. What are they? What do they look like? Feel like? Microagressions can be a major source of conflict in our daily lives; microaggressions are common verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional that communicates hostile or negative slights to people and marginalized groups. Perpetrators of microaggressions are often unaware of the impact of their actions; this session is dedicated to examining and deepening our understanding of microagressions and how to work through the conflict resulting from them.
This dialogue will be hosted by the YWCA of Minneapolis and is supported by the Office of Student Life & Peer Empowerment And Community Education. For questions or accommodations necessary to experience this opportunity, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 715.425.4444.
