Dr. Jacqueline Limberg of the Mayo Clinic will be giving a lecture on metabolic syndrome. The condition oftens raises the blood pressure of people during exercise, resulting in a decreased tolerance to exercise. Animal studies indicate that certain signaling pathways reduce the amount of oxygen delivered to exercising muscles. Dr. Limberg will present the first data that translates these findings to humans. Her visit to UWRF is part of an ADVANCE grant funded by the National Science Foundation.
