The American soprano is Carla Thelen Hanson, who won rave reviews from the “New York Times” when she starred in “Tosca” at the New York City Opera. Carla, a versatile artist, will sing two arias from “Tosca” and American jazz favorites “Misty” and “Mack the Knife”. Carla is in demand as a soloist and has performed internationally.
Other selections on the program include Mozart’s “Overture to Cosi Fan Tutte”, plus “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky: Promenade, The Old Castle, and The Great Gate of Kiev.
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra presents a series of eight concerts annually throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Directed by Kristin Tjornehoj, the musicians bring a high quality of skill to performances that delight audiences throughout the region.
