Mathematics Seminar: "A Factorization Model for Scheduling River Trips" by Katie Rydeen. A river excursion company must balance the desire of its patrons for privacy with its own need to maximize revenue by allowing more people on the river. Using factorization and inclusion-exclusion, the presenter created a mathematical model to solve this dilemma. This problem and a solution schedule will be described.
