Wyman Series: An Evening with Byron Hurt

Hurt addresses provocative topics such as race, gender and violence through his films, writings and lectures. He will begin the evening with a *screening of his acclaimed film: “Soul Food Junkies, “which explores the health advantages and disadvantages of Soul Food, a quintessential American cuisine. Byron Hurt uses Soul Food as the lens to investigate the dark side of the food industry and the growing food justice movement that has been born in its wake.

*Additional Screenings for Soul Food Junkies will take place on
Wednesday, October 9th at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm in the Falcon’s Nest, University Center.

*PEACE Dialogue: Join Byron Hurt and the YWCA of Minneapolis for a discussion on Food Justice on Thursday, October 10th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.  in the Falcon’s Nest , University Center
