In honor of National School Counseling Week 2013, the UWRF School Counseling Student Association will be hosting guest speaker Kris Miner who will be presenting information on restorative justice practices in education.
Kris Miner has been the director at St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice in River Falls, WI since 2005 and has worked with the program since its founding in 2001. Miner has her Bachelors in Mass Communications and Masters in Counseling. She has experience working as a family therapist and as an adolescent and family case manager. Kris Miner has provided trainings on various topics to help school counselors, teachers, principals, social workers, victim advocates, attorneys and others understand the skills needed to utilize restorative justice practices. Miner has previously held trainings at the Minnesota Department of Education and the Wisconsin School Counselor Association.
